Shot At Love was one of my more recent poems, written late 2008 or early 2009. I had been dealing with so much hurt and problems from people I had dated that I decided it was best to write how I felt and how unfair things felt at the time.
Shot At Love
As I count the days
Wondering where you are
And when you will"Walk into my life
And show me the love
I've been longing for,
I start to cry
And feel really lonely deep inside.
It makes me wonder
Will I ever find love?
Will I ever find soemone
That can see beyond
The outer layer of
The wonderful locked inside?
Everyone tells me to be patient,
Love will find me.
How long must one wait
For love to walk into their life?
What are they supposed to do
In the meantime?
Everyone says to go out,
Meet people and fave fun.
I don't mind meeting people,
but what do I do when
someone wants to hook up?
I'm over the whole,
"Hey! You're hot, let's screw!" phase!
And what's the point in dating someone,
If they aren't going to
Stick around, but a month or two?
